PRALIN – Independent Performing Arts in Prague and Berlin

PRALIN – Independent Performing Arts in Prague and Berlin

PRALIN intends to actively promote and support the communication between the independent performing arts communities in Berlin and Prague. Both communities have a great deal in common not only in terms of artistic aesthetic, but also in terms of working conditions and topics of discussion. They are both large cities with progressive theater communities, located closely to one another and are official partner cities. They mirror each other in many regards while remaining unique in many other aspects and each have their own special problems and are prepared to learn from each other.

The project partners of PRALIN – the Prague Initiative for the Independent Scene Nová sít' and the Performing Arts Program of LAFT Berlin – therefore jointly carry out the following networking offers, among others:

Delegation trips lead to the two scene festivals Malá inventura and Performing Arts Festival Berlin as well as to industry meetings of the independent performing arts in Berlin and Prague. Travelers are invited to participate in additional networking and information events designed especially for them in order to bring them into concrete contact with the scene in the other city.
The PRALIN Staff Exchange offers a long-term framework for exchange. In a year-round exchange program, actors are given the opportunity to network with the scene of the other city, to work specifically on cooperation ideas and to implement them. In addition to being integrated into a structure of the respective partner city, the participants get to know each other as their own network, are invited to relevant events in the host city, and also receive advice and support for their cooperation ideas.
The PRALIN Days focus on the content of the industry meetings of the two cities and provide information about the situation of the independent performing arts in the respective partner city.

In order to stimulate guest performance exchanges and showcases, the participants of the delegation trips are supported financially and organizationally in inviting productions to their own city.
Continuous consultation and information transfer of the two partner organizations also lead to the simplification of contacts and sustainably promote cooperation and exchange between the independent performing arts in the two related European cities.
